This was a great little find that was a spur of the moment thing. We were heading back to LA County Saturday afternoon from San Marcos, but when passing through Camp Pendleton wondered if there was any nearby cheap hotels to enjoy the area just a little bit longer.

I whip out the handy dandy Hotel Tonight App (famous for heavily discounting last minute bookings) and found this gem of a hotel. It was the lowest priced that Saturday night for $90.

We were a little hesitant because check in isn't til 4pm and check OUT was a bit early at 10am. It was kinda unexpected, and since we weren't looking to stay too late on Sunday, it worked for us. So as my buddy drives, I book. Wham, Bam, Shazam....we got a room way last minute. Like really, maybe an hour or so before check in.

When we got to the hotel, it was like WOW. We got a suite. Sweet! One bedroom. Two additional murphy beds in the living area. Two restrooms. Two couches. A patio. A kitchenette. Fully stocked drawers with dishes & cutlery. There was even pots, pans and baking dishes. There was a full size fridge. As I ventured out to our patio, I could see a Volleyball/Basketball court out back. Whoa!

When we checked in, the other guest was turning in mini golf clubs & balls and checking out some shuffleboard equipment. They have all sorts of stuff you can check out at the front desk. Basketballs, volleyballs, DVDs, playing cards, etc. Kinda a bummer that we stayed only one night, but ah... the responsibilities of being employed in LA county and having work on Monday. BOOOOO.

Everything was clean, comfortable and convenient. There is even a restaurant on the premises. As for us, we ventured out to the Ralph's just up the street. Figured we'd buy some microwave dinners & deli food to save some money. Besides, the cabinets were full of plates, bowls, spoons, forks, etc. Microwave worked well, too.

I don't have any complaints about this property. I wish I could have stayed longer. I would live here if I could. We originally planned on going out to the beach at some point, but there was so much to do at the Inn that, besides groceries, we never left.

If you haven't heard of, or used the Hotel Tonight App, I highly urge you to try it. You'll even get $25 off your first booking if you use promo code "sSaenz3" when signing up. How awesome is that? Savings on top of savings. This app specializes in last minute bookings, so its not a bad thing to have handy. The $25 does not expire, so you might as well download it now and whip it out when you find yourself in a nice area that you may want to spend additional time in.

Safe travels everyone...
