Provided by YP.comOn Saturday, August 4th, I was involved in an accident with someone who is represented by this felonious insurance company. The process to file a claim and to get the person at fault to accept accountability was a song and dance to say the least, but ultimately with God's grace, their client finally accepted fault in the accident. Caveat: Just know, when you're dealing with ANY INSURANCE company, you're going to get the run-a-round. Luckily, the Agent handling my case, DENISE SMITH was/is at least cordial and somewhat pleasant. The problem came when I called to discuss my rental car accommodations. With Denise being out of the office, I was subjected to deal with her Assistant, Mark, who was extremely RUDE, CURT, UNPROFESSIONAL, INCONSIDERATE, APATHETIC, ASININE, UNACCOMODATING, CRASS and IMPATIENT. His demeanor on the phone had taken me aback and left me speechless in how he was choosing to handle me in this situation. Since Denise was out, unfortunately, I had no other choice than to deal with her Assistant, Mark. He proceeded to speak to me in a condescending and belittling manner about the company's process and what he was and wasn't going to do. I tried explaining to Mark that the details of my rental car had previously been discussed with Denise. He was uninterested and blatantly responded with “It’s Friday, I’m not putting you in a car over the weekend, so you can forget about it." In all transparency, it wasn’t WHAT he was saying, rather, HOW he was saying it. The one thing in Denise's favor, is that she knows how to speak with and treat the claimant, regardless of the news that's being communicated, whether positive or negative, she was conscientious of how she was being portrayed. RESPECT RESPECT RESPECT is all that anyone deserves, no matter what. Never before have I been spoken to so disrespectfully in ALL my life. For the record, I repeatedly asked to speak with a Supervisor to avoid having to continue with Mark, but to no avail. I was denied the right every time, which is completely unacceptable. At the end of the day, this is a service job where contact is made with individuals on a daily basis. If Mark or anyone in this position isn't equipped or ill prepared to handle ALL types of situations, he/she/they should not be working in this position. No one deserves the kind of treatment that I received today. It was uncalled for and unnecessary.

Provided by YP.comWish there were an option for NEGATIVE STARS! They don't deserve even one star!
On July 25, 2016 our company vehicle was struck by another vehicle who's driver was insured by Anchor General Insurance Company. A Claim was filed on 7/26/2016. We obtained estimates of the damages, which averaged around $6800 dollars. Anchor General was UNRESPONSIVE! Claims department would not answer phone calls, nor would they return messages! In September, we filed a claim against them with the California Department of Insurance. Anchor finally responded, stating they couldn't reach us. They accepted fault and sent out MEGA Appraisers, who estimated the damages at $835, seriously? Shame on Mega appraisers for working with Anchor to fraud innocent victims!
At the end of Sept 2016, we received a check for $835 dollars and they stated they would cover a rental while I truck was in the shop. October 2nd, 2016 We took the check for $835 and the damaged truck to our local Auto body repair shop. We obtained a rental truck as authorized per D. Williams with Anchor, but we would have to pay for it and submit a receipt for reimbursement. The auto body shop would call weekly, if not daily to get repairs authorized. After ONE month, the repairs were NOT completed on our truck, but we could no longer accumulate the high cost of the rental. Our truck was drive-able, but not usable to make deliveries etc.
On December 2, 2016 another claim was filed with the California Department of Insurance. Many calls, faxes, emails have been made by us and the auto repair shop. Anchor General still refuses to respond. FACTS, our truck remains unrepaired, we are out thousands of dollars in loss of use. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They should not be allowed to stay in operation.
VICTIM OF ANCHOR GENERAL INSURANCE!

Provided by YP.comSo far I haven't had any issues with these people, my complaint is that in order to make a payment online, you have to have a "real" computer, ex: lap top, regular computer, etc. Then they only accept certain browsers. You cant use your phone to make a payment. How many people have a real computer these days? Almost everyone has a phone, which is more convenient to make a payment. After reading all the reviews, I am going to search for new insurance. I hope I never have an accident because apparently this company really sucks at helping their customers when you need them.

Provided by YP.comOMG, my car was totaled by someone who has this insurance, or maybe she doesn't. The claims adjuster says "coverage is pending," the car she was driving wasn't insured . . . I think I'm going to be carless for a couple of years.

Provided by YP.comZERO Stars! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE Company! Terrible, I cannot wait until my policy expires so I can change insurance companies. I was in a 5 car pile up and the person who hit us did not have enough insurance to cover the damages. I had to pay my deductible to fix my car and pay the rental car fee and Anchor general said they were going to reimburse me once the claim goes through. Well 3 years later the case is finally being settled and the other person's insurance can only pay for a portion of my expenses and Anchor General is keeping a percentage of that money. So not only did they not reimburse me for my car damages they are keeping a percentage of what the other person's insurance is reimbursing me! The claim's department is horrible at getting back to people. They took a week to call me after I filed a claim. They are extremely unprofessional. They do not return calls and when you do call the wait time is at least 30 minutes get through.

Provided by YPmobileThis is the worst experience I have ever had. They always tried to find a way to.charge me. I had no car for three months because of them. I had to write a letter to the ceo. Even the mechanics tried to help me out. Its not worth the hassle. I would be in tears over the phone because of them. Its not worth the stress.

Provided by YP.comThis place is HORRIBLE! They treat their customers extremely rude and do not return calls in a timely fashion. I had them for 5 years never asked for anything until one day I was involved in a car accident. I reported it and didn't hear from them for 2 weeks, and I only received a call because I called 1st the supervisor, no return call, the manager no return call, so I got ahold of the GM who had the rudest woman call us back only to tell us their will not help us unless we give them a good reason to. I said um maybe because we've been paying you for the last 5 years... nope not a good enough reason. They didn't help me plead my case nor did they reimburse us what we were owed. DO NOT GO TO THEM! RUN RUN RUN!!!

Provided by YP.comHorrible Insurance Company!!!
I temporarily was added to my wife's insurance (Anchor General) due to a miscommunication with my previous insurance, Farmers. Four days later my wife unavoidably ran over a huge piece of metal that was in the road. It did almost an estimated $5000+ in damages to my under carriage. They charged me a unbelievable amount of betterment on my vehicle that the Collision Center did not agree with as well. I never approved the repairs after the estimate was given, as required, per the Collision Center and Anchor General. They claimed to have contacted us and received approval, but truly never did.
I called the Manager of their claims Dept., to get an explanation of these non-approved betterment charges. I was very professional and courteous explaining my concerns. He immediately became defensive and lied (I knew very little about this process but did a little research prior to calling). He lied and when I questioned him on the lie, stating another area of concern that he previously mentioned, he immediately tried to cover his dishonest statement.
I now have an appoint for consultation with an attorney and am going to seek legal action.
I have never written a review, ever, but letting this company continuously scam and profit is out of the question. I will do all I can to let the public know about their ways. According to other reviews, I'm not the only one.

Provided by YP.comI bought my insurance premium for six months, paid in full. One month in, someone backed into my car. While the other person's insurance was absolutely wonderful, setting me up with a car rental the entire week that my car was in the shop, Anchor General did nothing but bombard me with phone calls, questionnaires, and claim forms to fill out. They did nothing but make a mountain out of a mole hill while the other company took care of everything. Later on, I decided to switch cars and had my policy adjusted. They sent me the bill for the difference of $46 dollars. Being short on money at the time, I decided to send in a $25 check (on time) and figured that the next month I would only pay about $20. The next month I got a bill for $13 more than the $20 I was expecting to pay. They don't even bother to list on the billing statement the fact that they are charging you a $13 BILLING FEE every time you make a payment. (And God forbid that you go into your local insurance broker's office because they will charge you a fee on top of that!) I didn't have anyone assist me by phone and I didn't pay by credit card. They just can't seem to find any other ways to squeeze money out of the tired masses so they bill you an extra $13 just because!
