Andrea Coverdale, DPT, is a licensed physical therapist who helps people with various neurological conditions, including stroke, Parkinsons disease, multiple sclerosis, Guillain-Barr syndrome, brain and spinal injuries, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) or Lou Gehrig's disease. She is also experienced in working with elderly individuals who have general impairments with strength, endurance, balance and gait.Andrea earned her doctoral degree in physical therapy from Northeastern University in Boston. She is certified as a stroke rehabilitation specialist through the National Stroke Association. Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, Andrea was a physical therapist at Rusk Rehabilitation at NYU Langone Medical Center in New York. She is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and regularly participates in national conferences. Outside of work, Andrea stays active through hiking, skiing, and training for triathlons. She enjoys local and international travel.
