After thirty years of trying to manage unsightly facial hair, I finally went to Wendy at New Image Electrolysis. The professional and caring service Wendy provides have allowed me to be free of embarrassing facial hair and free of the daily concern for my appearance. Wendy is organized, reliable and discreet. Her fees are very reasonable. The office is conveniently located with easy parking.

I am very pleased with the results I have experienced at New Image. Wendy is very friendly and extremely professional. Several years ago I had been to another electrologist in the San Diego area that I was not happy with. I'm so glad that I decided to try again and found Wendy. I was so impressed with her from the first visit and I recommend her highly. She takes the time to explain the process, what to expect, and she mitigates the pain factor as much as possible. The office is immaculately clean. She explained from the beginning that it would take about a year to eliminate my whisker-like chin and upper lip hairs and she was right. The problem had been getting worse and worse as I aged. I had to shave them everyday and even then I would get ingrown hairs which were unsightly and embarrassing. I am fair so the whiskers were not visible when shaved, but they could still be felt and really bothered me. The price is reasonable and has been worth every penny; I am thrilled to be finally rid of this problem, and should only need occasional touch ups every few months from now on. Yay!!! I always feel that every minute during my session was utilized efficiently and effectively. I’ve been going to Rochelle for 5 years. She has really turned my life and self-esteem around not just physically but mentally as well. She’s a very experienced electrologist with good hands and a kind, caring soul. I’ve visited several other electrologists, but I now currently drive over 100 miles to see her every once in awhile as I don’t trust others as I do her. I am so happy that i finally found a clean, affordable electrolysis center in San Diego. I had treatments years ago in the San Francisco Bay Area, and was really apprehensive about the quality of electrolysis & cleanliness of a new office. What a pleasant surprise to discover Wendy Golden turned out to be the same Wendy from my ski club. We'd been on several bus ski trips to Mammoth Lakes and I liked her then, and I like her even more now! She's a thorough professional, knows her craft inside and out and has done a superb job for me. I even drive over from Phoenix (where we now live) to be 'spruced up' by Wendy. The office is always immaculate and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend New Image Electrolysis to all my friends. I have been a client of New Image for several years now, and Wendy Golden (my electrologist) has transformed my life. I had a profuse amount of facial hair, and as a young woman, that was a horrible thing to have, so I spent 40 minutes every morning plucking out the hairs (yuck!), so I found New Image after an internet search. Not only did Wendy remove my hair, she suggested I see a reproductive endocrinologist because polycistic ovary syndrome might be the cause of my hair growth. Turns out I do have PCOS, I would never have guessed, just thought the hair was my Italian side.



On the initial consultation, Wendy educated me on the pros and cons of the various hair removal methods and on how electrolysis works. The office has always been clean, and each electrologist has their own private space to tend to clients. New probes are used for each session, and Wendy keeps meticulous records of what area she treats and at what intensity of electrical pulse she used for that session.



The results are fantastic, Wendy did a great job. I don't pluck any more, the facial hair is gone. I loved the results so much that I got my armpit hair removed, belly hair (not sexy unless you're David Beckham), eyebrows sculpted and now I've moved on to the bikini area, with plans to get my entire legs done. Areas where the hair has been removed are so smooth, and unlike shaving, there is no hair under the skin, so your skin tone is even and not discolored. I have extremely sensitive skin, but have never had any infections or other adverse reactions to treatments. Wendy has always been professional and non-judgemental (seriously I was like Sasquatch, it was really embarrassing) and we have developed a great relationship. I will continue to patronize New Image and always look forward to my appointments.



A few notes, the treatment is not painful, but can be temporarily uncomfortable (some areas more than others), there are creams that can numb the skin but I've never felt the need to use them. The intensity of the electrical pulse can also be adjusted, so a lower intensity will be less uncomfortable, but it will take more sessions to completely get rid of the hair, this is something you communicate with your electrologist about, I've never felt pressured to stay at any level of intensity and I know I can ask for the intensity to be lowered without any problem. The time it takes to completely clear an area depends on the size of the area, concentration of hair, length of sessions, time between sessions, i.e. my face took about a year going in twice a month for an hour each session (I really was a beast), while underarms were cleared much faster in 8 months going in for 1 1/2 hr sessions every 3 weeks, still working on the bikini. I don't know why people waste their money on temporary measures like waxing which aren't permanent and hurt more.



You will not regret letting Wendy (or any of the electrologists) at New Image take care of your hair problem, it was one of the best decisions I've made.

I found Rochelle Freeman through the AEA website. I was looking into whether electrolysis would be right for me. She is a professional electrologist, Board Certified by the The American Electrology Association.



Needless to say though, I was concerned when I read the previous review. Let me tell you about MY experience:



First of all, the probe she used was disposed of after she was finished. She wore gloves for each visit. I saw her put them on. Also everything else she did was consistent with proper infection control protocols. (She explained that she has worked in the health care profession and in hospitals for years before starting her own business.)



I really had to respond to the previous review. Simply because it was so NOT what I experienced with my numerous sessions with Rochelle. I have had 4 sessions spaced over the past 4-5 months for removal of unwanted hair. My results exceed my expectations. They even exceeded what Rochelle told me.



The results after each session were dramatic. However it is a process, as Rochelle explained, and I will be scheduling another visit soon. No more shaving!



Her office is fairly easy to find with good access to freeways. Parking is OK. That could be better. There are only a few spots for New Image clients so be mindful of that when pulling into the small lot.

I went to Rochelle Freeman expecting efficient, clean, and professional service because of her certifications. She is far from any of those. Rochelle did not use gloves and touched my freshly treated face with her hands to 'feel what I would feel' - as in hairs. After the treatment, she told me about aftercare, and right after telling me to never touch the treated parts of my face with my hand because 'no matter how well you wash them, there is still bacteria', she smeared Neosporin on me with her bare hands. Her office did not look clean, and now I am left wondering if she used a used probe as I didn't see her put the new one on. By the next morning, my chin was deeply infected. I will be looking into making an official complaint. This should never happen.

When I was 21 I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, an endocrine disorder with a lot of unpleasant symptoms-- one of them being excessive and increased body hair. After my diagnosis, I began hormone treatment, but was unable to rid myself of the hair on my face. I was embarrassed. I felt unfeminine and I hated shaving every morning like a man. When I asked my doctor about laser hair removal, he said that laser treatment was only temporary and he recommended that I go to New Image Electrolysis instead. I followed his recommendation and began to see Wendy Golden at New Image in 2006. I am so fortunate to have found Wendy. She permanently removed most of my facial hair and is continuing to work on less noticeable hairs that inevitably grow due to my syndrome. I have newfound self esteem. I can wear my hair in ponytail. I can swim. I can look in the mirror and feel feminine again. Thank you, Wendy.

I was initially treated by Patty, and was very happy with her service. When she moved out of State, Wendy stepped in to complete my treatment. Ever since, I've returned to Wendy over the years for "touch up" work and highly recommend her services. Just like Patty, she cares about her clients concerns and wellbeing and her prices are very reasonable. Prior to finding New Image, I had a poor experience with another provider in the south bay area who was rude, inconsiderate and far from perfect. I prefer to drive out of my way to the professional and accomodating service of New Image.

I had a serious problem with persistent facial hair and over the years had gone to several electrologists for help. Because my skin is so sensitive, and the hair was so persistent, the results were always disappointing. I had given up and resorted to shaving and plucking. Finally, a friend who had had her binkini line done, recommended Wendy Golden at New Image Electrolysis. I'll always be indebted to that friend! Wendy took the time and had the skill to develop an approach that really worked for me. And what a difference she has made in my life! My face is free of unwanted hair, and I feel confident and pretty. I've gone on to have my eyebrows and underarms done with equally stellar results. Wendy's professionalism, skill and compassion put her in a class by herself.

I have tried many electrologists over the years, and even expensive laser treatment for hair removal, and nothing has been as successful as the progress I have made with treatments by Wendy Golden at New Image. She is the ultimate professional; very knowledgeable and informed, and I have always felt very well taken care of. I have no reservations in highly recommending her to anyone who needs the services of an electrologist.

I have been getting hair removed from my eye brows. Electrolysis is the way to go! Not painful! I am almost done with the hair removal on my eye brows and I think I'll do my underarms.
