I am the Founder of Signaigo Legal Content. I help top-tier law firms get high-quality cases through SEO. I work with a small number of clients and give each of them my 100% focus. My journey into legal marketing started in 2009 when I passed the California Bar Exam and became a lawyer at one of San Diego’s premier personal injury law firms. I practiced personal injury law for two years before moving to an international law firm that did class action cases. The move paid more, but the job was unfulfilling, and I was deeply unhappy. Thus, after eight years of working as a lawyer, I decided to stop practicing law and chase my dreams. I founded a startup – and failed. Then, I wrote a book I didn’t publish. Thus, I chased two dreams and failed at both of them. The silver lining was that I started posting my writing online, which caught the attention of a friend and colleague who had his own personal injury firm. My friend called me and asked if I could write the content for his website. He said I was perfect for the job because I was ‘’trained as a lawyer but wrote like a normal person.’’ My friend is one of the best personal injury lawyers in San Diego – so it was a good opportunity. Thus, I took the gig without prior SEO experience and quickly realized I didn’t know what I was doing. If you want your content to rank on Google, there are rules you must follow. I needed to learn the rules. My first couple of articles were well-written but needed to be optimized for SEO. Thus, I studied, researched, and did the deep work necessary to learn how to write articles for SEO. Furthermore, I wrote out processes, systems, and checklists to ensure that I could consistently produce high-ranking content. Before long, I had articles ranking organically for ultra-competitive personal injury search terms. That is when I realized that I had learned a very valuable skill. Personal injury search terms can cost tens or hundreds of dollars per click. Content that organically ranks for these search terms is worth a fortune. Today, my exclusive job is writing legal content for law firms. I integrate SEO, pay-per-click, web design, social media, and email newsletters into a lead funnel that consistently generates new cases. I love helping my clients build their law firms. On a personal note, I am married with three dogs. My passions in life include surfing, skateboarding, reading, writing, playing guitar, singing, working out, studying Spanish, and traveling.
