Jeffrey Jenks, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine doctor. He provides primary care for adults, including preventive care and diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases. Dr. Jenks also has advanced training in infectious diseases and a special interest in treating tuberculosis. As an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine, Dr. Jenks instructs medical students, residents and fellows. He is passionate about global health and is active in the field of clinical tuberculosis research. He has published numerous peer reviewed articles and his work has appeared in Lancet Infectious Disease and Clinical Infectious Disease, among others. Dr. Jenks completed a fellowship in infectious disease at UC San Diego School of Medicine and a residency in internal medicine at Boston University School of Medicine, Boston Medical Center. He earned his medical degree from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio, where he also earned his masters degree in public health. He is board-certified in internal medicine and infectious disease.While attending medical school and residency training, Dr. Jenks was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society for his exemplary efforts in humanistic patient care and stature as a role model to medical students. He is a member of the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease and the Infectious Diseases Society of America.
