These apartments in general have been pretty convenient and affordable to live in. Being a UCSD student, I can easily go to campus on the 41 bus that’s right outside or I can bike it during the rush hour. The apartment is also close to several major freeways such as the 5, 805, and the 52 entrance that is only about a mile away. Having the 2bed and 2bath apartment has been ideal for housing roommates that can accommodate for doubles in each room. We are also thankful to have 2 assigned parking spots, parking available for visitors, and street parking nearby. The apartment is also equipped with amenities such as a dog park, pool, a recently renovated picnic area with grills, and a volleyball court that are always maintained cleaned. Although the on-site laundry is a little pricy and not open after certain hours, I am glad that it has a coin-change machine that makes it easy to get quarters without having to constantly go to the bank. The area is also very safe as I have never had issues like theft of my bike or amazon packages.

As a UCSD student, I have found this place to be ideal for the past 3 years since I moved off-campus. Compared to other apartments in the La Jolla area, this place is definitely one of the more affordable options that can still get you to campus by bus within approx. a 20-minute commute and about 10 minutes by car. The 41 bus stop is also just a 2-minute walk from the apartment complex that takes you straight to campus without the need to transfer buses. Across the street is also a convenient shopping center with a Vons, restaurants, gasoline stations, a Rite Aid, etc.

As for the apartments themselves, the rooms are very spacious with plenty of space for storage and large furniture. It also comes with appliances that are in good shape like dishwashers, stoves, microwaves, etc. The parking spots vary with some being large while others are covered by roofs, so it really depends on the luck for which one you get assigned. I have never encountered problems like pests infestations, power blackouts, or rowdy neighbors, and the complex is kept clean by the workers. Teresa, the manager, has always responded quickly to any maintenance issues and occasionally sets up fun events for the community.

Overall, my time here has been pleasant and I recommend this place to any student/person looking to rent in the La Jolla community.

La Jolla Park East has been an affordable and convenient location to live in. There are two shopping centers close by, which include various eateries, grocery stores, salons, and dentist offices, to name a few. Not too far from the complex is a mall and bus station, where you can find a bus to go anywhere in San Diego. UCSD is a short drive away, making LJPE a great place for students to reside. Management is always super helpful and friendly, and has always responded to any issues that needed to be fixed in the apartment. The rooms are spacious and neighbors are very respectful/quiet. The apartments allow pets, which is a big plus since many apartments in the area do not. With 2 parking spaces included, an on site pool, bbq area, mini dog park, and lush greenery around the complex, you would be missing out if you didn't live at LJPE.

A year into living at this quaint apartment complex has proven how it's affordability and amenities have made living here enjoyable. There is a new barbecue area where event take place such as a Mother’s Day event or an ice cream social. For paying rent, you have the option of signing up online or paying with cash or check at the manager's office. The manager is friendly and tries her best to get problems fixed in a timely fashion, but sometimes it can take a while.

The vintage-looking apartments have a lot to offer for the price. The pool and barbecue area are perfect for summer days. Families can enjoy being near a variety of schools of different grade levels, as well as having the market across the street. The community is friendly and quiet. Management does their best to help you fix a problem in your apartment, however sometimes it takes a while to get things done. There is a laundry room on site with a change machine, since quarters are needed for the washers and dryers. Overall, the apartments are a great place to live, whether you're part of a family or you're a college student.

I moved here last summer. Management was slow in my experience. We asked multiple times to get another key when we moved in and we still do not have a second dedicated parking spot as promised when we moved in. Otherwise, management is pretty good in that Teresa is really nice and holds events like a mother’s day event and an ice cream social.

Location is good. The 52 leaves La Jolla and the beach 10-15 min away by car depending on traffic. Clairemont, Balboa, UTC shopping centers are a short bus ride away. Fashion Valley is also one bus away. Vons/CVS/Sprouts are walking distance. Location is nice for families because there are elementary, middle, and high schools all within block of the apartment.

They renovated parts of the apartment complex. They now have a playground for children and a nice patio for bbqing. Many have pets here and there is a tiny fenced area where you can let your pet off the leash. They added more parking so even though we don’t have a second dedicated parking spot as mentioned above, we always have somewhere to park.

Some parking spots are adequately large but many are small. It doesn’t seem like there is currently any reinforced parking rules

The apartment itself is nice. Live here with other students. The rooms fit two small desks and two twin beds (or two big desks and a queen bed) fine. The bathroom sink cabinet door was falling off its hinges when we moved in but we asked them to fix it for us and they made it slightly better. Otherwise, everything was nice when we moved in i.e. recently repainted, floors were clean, etc., and our appliances were in working condition.

Lots of kids so it could be loud depending on where your apartment is. They don’t bother me much but they have woken up my apartment mate a few times as he's a light sleeper. You often hear the police or fire truck sirens from Genesee if window is open but they do not bother me. The planes are loud but that’s hard to avoid in SD. Noise here is not an issue for me.
