Melinda Chen, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine doctor. She provides primary care for adults, including preventive care and diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases. Her research interests include population health, the social determinants of health, and changing methods of delivering primary care to patients. Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, Dr. Chen was a physician with the Environmental Exposures Clinic at Veterans Affairs New Jersey Healthcare System. She also has experience as a primary care physician for older adults and for patients with developmental disabilities. Dr. Chen completed residency training in internal medicine at University of California, San Francisco and a fellowship in clinical epidemiology and health sciences research at Weill Cornell Medical College. She earned her medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at University of California, Los Angeles. She is board-certified in internal medicine.
