Pathfinders of San Diego, California was started in 1950, and is based on the principles and philosophy of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). It is a non-profitable corporation helping men with alcoholism problems to recover by providing a residential recovery plan called social-model recovery. Since its inception, nearly 5000 men have benefitted by this program. It is accredited by state and county authorities as a forerunner of recovery programs. Those who choose to enrol, have to undergo a 3-6 month recovery program at the PathfinderÕs home, where they will attend AA meetings and involve themselves in community supportive works. If alcohol or illegal drugs are consumed within the premises, they will be evicted and will not be admitted again.
