Leslie Martin, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine physician who specializes in caring for hospitalized patients. As a hospitalist, Dr. Martin is assigned to patients at the time of admission and provides care only during their hospital stay. She does not see patients at outpatient clinics and is not available for appointments. Upon a patients discharge, Dr. Martin communicates with their regular physician to ensure quality care. As a professor of the Department of Medicine, Dr. Martin instructs medical students, residents and fellows. She has served as a full-time hospitalist since the Hospital Medicine Program was created in 2001. Prior to serving as a hospitalist, Dr. Martin was a clinician with the UC San Diego Internal Medicine Group at the Perlman Ambulatory Care Center in La Jolla and the Womens Health Care Services Program at UC San Diego Medical Center. Dr. Martin completed her residency training in internal medicine at UC San Diego School of Medicine. She earned her medical degree at UC Los Angeles School of Medicine. She is board-certified in internal medicine.
