The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission is a federal agency that is responsible for enforcing the United States laws prohibiting employment discrimination. The commission receives, reviews and investigates charges of employment and file discrimination lawsuits involving private sector employers. It also conducts administrative hearings and issue appellate decisions in the federal sector. The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission enforces the Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and Equal Pay Act of 1963. The Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 prohibits employment discrimination against qualified individuals with disabilities.
