Denise Mailloux Bowden, M.S., L.Ac. is a licensed acupuncturist and clinical herbalist with a Masters of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Her work stems from a deep desire to help people overcome physical as well as emotional challenges to improve their health and wellbeing. Denise assesses patients holistically by taking a detailed history, evaluating diet and lifestyle, and customizing each client’s care. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Colby College in Maine and, for many years afterwards, worked as a Research Associate at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) for the Department of Medicine. This psychological perspective and biomedical background has helped to shape and inform her work as a clinician. During her Master’s program, Denise apprenticed under Beverly Burns, M.S., L.Ac., renowned acupuncturist and healer. She has also studied extensively with fertility specialist Dr. Lifang Liang and pregnancy and childbirth expert Raven Lang, M.S., L.Ac. Denise is also a member in good standing with CSOMA (California State Oriental Medical Association), the NorCal Fertility Group (Northern California chapter of acupuncturists specializing in fertility) as well as the Mama's Resource Network (MRN).
