This review is for the location in the Castro. I make that point because some of the others seem to be for elsewhere. We love Firewood Cafe. For us it is just a few block's walk. The pizzas are terrific, the pastas are good. This is a great alternative to cooking for yourself. Salads are large and really good - just be careful if you are dieting because it is easy to commit extra calories. Be aware that at this location you order from the register, then find a table and they bring you your food when ready. So service is fine (if minimal). Come prepared to eat and leave - this is not a place to linger over your table. Someone else will want it soon! So we recommend this place for an easy home cooking alternative that is priced reasonably well.
