Lerner is what you get when the evidence of genuine healing which, as a Psychiatrist primarily trained academically, isn't/wasn't prepared for. He isn't fit for treatment resistance disorders. Borderlines should be extremely cautious, MDDs, and Trauma related patients should find other care. If you're merely in a legal profession, a CEO, or some such other genuine ADHD sufferer, then Lerner may be the perfect person to seek help from, He's incredibly intelligent, and - when he himself is able to recognize/overcome his own fears/disorders/esteem issues, is capable of *amazing* work. Though he is trapped between the paradox of the Ethical and Legal Guidelines of his field and what he's witnessed as true medicine as altruism - and to do no harm - would mean he'd be unable to function as a professional of Mental Health. I feel a bit sorry for him, but I may loose my life because of things that both he and I took legitimate (and thus defendable) unorthodox boundary risks which actually turned out to allow me a life without Total Dysphoria for almost 40 years now. Though, and it isn't worth going into, after approx.4-5 yrs and around 7500 sessions , with no charge to me personally, I'm fairly certain that he's forgotten my name - let alone the success we had. The irony is that had he not abandoned me (improperly and unlawfully) he could have made history in the Reform of Mental Healthcare. *Just don't EVER agree to meet with his psychiatrist wife, talk to her over the phone, or have anything to do with her. And unlike me, you'll very likely live.
