First: took over fifteen minutes to get water. Second: rude bartenders gave me a bill before my beer. When seated the waitress gave us menus and started hassling us to order food within 5 minutes. Definitely going to one of the other vegetarian options in the city.

I went to Gracia Madre with some friends not knowing what to expect. Although I am not a vegan, I'm open minded and will try most vegan/ vegetarian dishes. What I received I did not expect! I ordered the enchiladas and was delighted by the cashew 'cheese', the mushrooms are what gave the dish the protein and punch it needed to fill me up. The sauce was slightly spicy and gratifying. My friend ordered a caeser salad for everyone to share- and thak God he did! The caesar salad was incredible! Not sure what was in the dressing, but it had loads of flavor; salty (but not too salty) and a bit tart - I did not miss the anchovies! The setting was warm and comfortable, I loved the long wooden tables and rustic feel. For all of you cynical of vegan Mexican food like I was, try it! you will not be disappointed!
