Provided by YP.comWith its small size, Hillwood does a wonderful job of giving each student plenty of attention. The teachers really do appreciate what each child has to offer and works with every child to instill a life-long love of learning.
My son, now a first grader, has been at Hillwood for two years, and his sister will be attending the school next year as a kindergartener. She can't wait, and our son loves his school experience on a daily basis. He's learning lots, reading chapter books and adding and subtracting double and triple digits. Additionally, he's studying Spanish and participating in music and art classes. Kids at Hillwood typically test one to two grades above their age. Whenever I have a question or would like a check-in about his progress, I know that the school's teachers and directors will make themselves available.
I also appreciate that Hillwood is a K through eighth-grade school. The students go on to do well at some of the top high schools in San Francisco, including Lowell and Sacred Heart. Better still, I think, graduates truly value their Hillwood experience, and they regularly come back to visit the school and help at various events.
Another big plus of Hillwood is its incredible affordability and understanding that many parents in the Bay Area work. Hillwood offers extended hours from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Classroom hours are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and tuition (including the cost of extended care and a hot lunch daily) is $700 per month ($7,000 annually). Plus, Hillwood offers a summer program for the months of June and July at an additional $700 each month. All that adds up to an incredible deal for a great, K through eighth-grade education.
