Provided by YP.comThe owner (male) is very moody. He'll do a good job when hes up for it and when his wife is at the shop to help keep the customers happy.
On a positive note, the first time I went there was 2.5 years ago to take some very custom photos, for immigration purposes. This time, he did a reasonable job because he was quite happy and his wife carried a good converation with my wife.
Because of the good experience, I decided to go back 2.5 years later just this past week to get the same type of custom photos for my 2 other children.
This time he went from Dr.Jeckyl to Mr.Hyde. I even reminded him we were here before.
I had an instruction sheet as part of the application to specify the exact dimensions of the photos required (in both inches and millimeter). His response was, "oh don't worry we've done a lot of immigration type photos so I know how big to make them."
I responded that these are not the conventional ones and for him just to please make them as the listed dimentions.
His attitude was just to get them done quickly and his tone was changing to that of impatientness and kept repeating:
"Don't so be so picky, who cares if its a few millimeters or a few 1/16s of inches off?!"
I'm the impatient one hence I was about to leave and forget his service. My wife intervened and (slightly) supervised his work though difficult because we had our children their all < 4 years old. (2 of them were intended for the photos)
At the end of the day, I was the biggest idiot because I paid him for the 2 sets of photos for a total of $50 + tax!!!
When I remeasured the photos at home, they weren't even rectangle!!!! Each side was off anywhere from 1/16th to 4/16th of an inch?!
At the end of the day, I had to use an exacto knife and a ruler to re-crop the pictures to the desired dimensions.
Maybe for other quick passport photos where he can deliver in 2 minutes, I'm sure he can do the job. Maybe if you give him the business (more $$$) to take family photos where it cost much more, he'll deliver.
If you want some slightly custom photo work; I don't know if you want to use someone who couldn't even use a ruler and a paper cutter correctly. Really the issue here was using a bit of time to correctly measure the photos and cut them.
I would have respected him much more if he would have just declined the job saying its too much work / hassle to get the correct dimensions. (which a lot of the other studios I went said; which I respect)
This guy wanted to take on the job for a nifty profit but wasn't willing to take the time to do it correctly. (which wasn't even rocket science work)
