Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation, located in San Francisco, is a nonprofit business that houses more than 2,400 low-income people. The people come from diverse fields, such as seniors, children, people with disabilities, low-income wage earners, people with AIDS, families and immigrants. They are housed in more than 1,600 apartments and residential hotel rooms spread on over 20 buildings. TNDC is also a major employer with more than 210 staff members. Its staff includes social workers who help residents stabilize their living, find resources for special medical, mental health or substance abuse issues, and to assist in developing a sense of community within the buildings.
