Provided by YP.comIn the summer right before my son started high school, I sent him to TestMagic. I noticed some improvement in his studying pattern. I sent him again in the next summer. No doubt about it, I got my return. I did see the obvious improvements, not only on the scores, but on the writing style as well. Yet, this is not what I want to write about. Now my son is a senior. Due to the extremely busy workload at school, even in the senior year, he barely got time to finish writing the two essays for UC application. Once the UC was done, we also wanted to test our luck on some of the top private colleges. We picked Yale, Cornell, Brown, Stanford, and USC. In addition to the two required essays for the Common Application, each private college requires a number of writing exercises. Let me tell you, all those essays, questions, and short takes need a lot of thinking and hard work. We almost gave up on a couple of those colleges. Luckily I got a hold of Erin. I am really glad I did. Erin, by scarifying his personal time, gave us big help -- ideas, strategy, guidance, and corrections ... the magic touch that we really needed. Just two weeks ago, Yale and Brown offered my son for alumni interview. Erin gave him advices on how to prep for the interviews. Bottom line -- my suggestion to juniors: if you really want to get into one of the top UCs or named private colleges, it is not too crazy to start giving thoughts to those writing exercises, I am not kidding; top colleges are getting tougher and tougher to get into.
