The Olympic Club is one of the oldest, and most venerated, private amateur athletic clubs in the United States. Established in 1860, the Olympic Club was one of the first sponsors for the annual Bay to Breakers foot race from San Francisco Bay to the Pacific Ocean. This race, with both elite runners and everyday joggers, draws upwards of 80,000 participants. Today, the club has more than 5,000 members. It also offers health, spa and dining services to its members through partnerships with other clubs. The club has a charity foundation that organizes tournaments and funds sports programs for children and disabled people. In addition, the club sponsors the Peter J. Cutino Award for water polo. The Olympic Club is located in San Francisco. It operates clubhouse and dining room facilities.
