Provided by YP.comWhen I discovered the saloon three years ago I knew SF was the place for me. Having spent time in New Orleans ,I was looking for an authentic blues bar like I found on bouron street. I first walked past Grant street and heard the music coming out the doors but decided to first wander up columbus to see if I could find anything else. Nada... Everything else was either a tourist trap or a hoitey toitey jazz joint. So when I went back to the saloon I walked in the doors and was immediatley struck by the atmosphere. I could feel the history in the air; the beautiful stained glass windows, the toothless bartenders, and the bar itself is the original! built in 1861, the saloon is the oldest bar in SF, from the days of Wyatt Earp to the '06 earthquake, this dive has seen it all!
