Provided by YP.comI needed to close an account, which I had opened at a branch of Wells Fargo in Pasadena about 20 years ago and which had been inactive for the last 10 years, as I've been living abroad during that period of time. I was psychologically ready to endure a kind of via sacra when I walked into the WF North First Street Office at San Jose CA. On the contrary, I was received by a smiling gentleman at the door - I thought he was a security officer - who listen to my history attentively and finally said "Well, it should be possible to close your account and cash your credit here, no need to go to Pasadena!" and then directed me to some officer, who very quickly re-activated the account, checked the balance and asked me to write a check to clean it out. Everything perfect, till I went to another officer to cash the check: "Oh, how can I do that without a PIN? It is simply impossible!" And then started to make calls. Well, welcome back to real life, I thought to myself. Finally somebody said - "Call Clarence!" It turned out, that Clarence - Clarence Brandy, Branch Manager and Vice-President- was the man who first greeted me when I walked into the bank. It took him one minute to type something in the computer and say it's all done. I cashed the check and left the bank with the feeling that some people make a difference in this world. Thanks, Clarence.
