Giving quality care to children and their family is the primary reason I have opened my home to provide childcare.  I dont only want to teach children the fundamentals they need to know to get into elementary school; I want to work with families to teach children healthy and mindful ways that will lead them to a long happy life.

 

I care about children and everything in their envirnment. 

The toys, floors, everything in reach of your child will be age

appropriate and cleaned without the use of toxic chemicals but be assured it

will all be clean.  Meals and snacks will be made with quality food including fresh fruits and vegetables and served family style on non-disposable plates etc.  Gardening will be a daily activity for the children.  Not only will they learn to grow fresh food they will also explore the natural world and have an opportunity to exercise

their senses.

Patience is one of my greatest qualities and it is something

children are talented at exercising.  I feel very strongly that every child deserves to be respected and heard at all times.  Through times of anger, sadness, happiness your child will be respected.  Respect is the most important thing I can teach through example.  Redirecting and natural consequences will always be the form of discipline used. I do not believe in time out as it can be embarrassing and can give the child a sense of being an outcast. 

 

 An open mind is vital when bringing children and families together in a childcare setting.  People in our community come from many different cultures with many different ways of life.  I believe the children should all

be celebrated and accepted along with the family that gave them their unique foundation. Religion will not be taught or practiced although the children will be exposed to celebrations, different languages, cultural attire and food.

 

As a teacher and caregiver I believe it is my job to see each child as an individual.  Lesson

plans will be done with every childs needs and interests considered. Children will be celebrated for individual goals and achievements; although, standard assessments will be done bi-annually and gone over with family as desired. If my goals are achieved the children in my care will shine in their own

light.
