Applied Fusion is a provider of electron beam welding. Electron beam welding is a process that joins metals with minimal distortion. The process enables welding to take place in close proximity to heat-sensitive components and hermetically sealed welding of evacuated enclosures while a vacuum is retained inside of the component. The company welds a variety of standard metals, as well as titanium, tantalum, niobium and molybdenum. Its facilities house several computer-numerically controlled and programmable electron beam welders. The welders feature a chamber size that is 3 feet by 7 feet by 8 feet. The rotary-tilt tables have a capacity of 7,500 pounds. Applied Fusion is located in San Leandro, Calif.
