I have had the best 6 weeks of pier fishing in my life. I'm 52 yrs. old and I have fished since childhood. However, recently moving to Texas City, I found 18th street pier. Wow, I have caught the fish. I believe the flooring is oyster bedding. Due to all the hang ups it can be frustrating. But, you can just let out line and swing your pole from left to right or vice versa. Anyhow, examples of the last few weeks include several red fish, black drums, sea trout, & golden croaker. Yes, the pier needs some renovation but it's still a wonderful spot. Oh, also make sure you use frozen or dead bait. Good Luck!!!

This place usually has good food but we had crawfish that was terrible one time. And if you place a to go order make sure they understand it. The service might be better If the waitress did not have a baby on her hip.
