Achievement House, founded in 1957, is a nonprofit agency that provides specialized vocational support services in California. The services are provided to individuals with developmental disabilities. Through its AHI Base Program, the agency offers on-site training and employment in three different locations. Its Group Supported Employment program provides opportunity to persons with special needs to work with other individuals. Achievement House is fully accredited by the Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission and certified by the California Department of Rehabilitation. Some community employers that use the organization s individual placement program are Farm Supply, Cal Poly, Vons Market, Woods Humane Society and The Village Cafe. Achievement House serves individuals who live or work in the communities of Nipomo, Arroyo Grande, Pismo Beach, Shell Beach, Avila Beach, Los Osos, Morro Bay, San Luis Obispo, Atascadero and Paso Robles.
