Have traveled for work in and around San Manuel since 1993. Mel's has always been a pit-stop along the way every chance I had. Mostly stuck behind a desk in Florence, AZ these days; I do not get out that way but 3 maybe 4 times a year. I can tell you that 100% of the time, old workers, new workers - every one of them - excellent service, excellent burger, excellent fries. Each and every time. Worthy of all-around 5 stars. Set back from the street so Don't Blink - You'll Miss

At first glance you might turn away, but I have been eating at Mel's since 1968. I remember walking across the desert from Avenue B Elementary School to get a burger, and they still taste as good as they did back then. The Jumbo Bacon Cheese Burger is the finest burger I have ever eaten, but anything on the menu is great. My parents and in-laws still live in the area, and when we go home, Mel's is always on the itinerary. Even my 5 children have always insisted on eating there. The address online is wrong, it is across from the High School parking lot on Main Street just east of McNab. Google lists it at 50 E Main St. Just be sure to bring cash; checks and debit are not accepted. Well worth the trip into town.
