The Public Services department is a part of the government of the City of San Marcos in Texas. The department operates an electric utility division that serves more than 19,500 residential, commercial, institutional and industrial customers throughout the city. The division also offers tree trimming, street lighting and home energy analysis services, as well as administers educational programs. The Public Services department manages a transportation division that is responsible for the maintenance and repair of streets, sidewalks, drainage systems, traffic signals, pavement markings and signs in the city. In addition, the department operates a wastewater treatment plant and water system.
