The City of Sandpoint governs the Sandpoint Public Works Department. The department consists of five divisions: public works administration, water treatment and distribution, wastewater treatment and collection, street and building division. The water division operates two surface water treatment plants and deliveres to over 4000 connections in Sandpoint, Ponderay, Kootenai, Dover and unincorporated areas of Bonner County surrounding Sandpoint. Its additional departments of the City of Sandpoint include finance and utilities, public works, police/fire, parks and recreation and planning and zoning department.
