I have lived at Wellington Place Apartments for 2 1/2 years now, and I have come to the conclusion that this apartment is not suitable for living. Management use to not be a problem until about a year ago when new managers took over. Now, in your lease, it clearly states that every month there will be a check up for your fire alarm, and that pest control will come once a month on Wednesdays to check and treat your apartment. Since March of 2009, my apartment has not been checked and it is now September of 2009. Personally, I have had maintenance take things that did not belong to them, and had to fight to get it back. There has been plenty of complaints about the dumpster situations and how skunks are constantly at the dumpsters EVERY night. It has been discussed and because it's not a "real problem" they will not even put a light near the dumpster so you can see. There's also shrubbery blocking parts of the dumpster which makes an un-easy feeling when you go to take your trash out at night. You never know what or who could be lurking behind the bushes. Management has turned a blind eye, will not take responsibility for other tenants problems. Such as, domestic disputes, suspicious behavior, animal control, and parking lot regulations. After living here, rent has gone up twice, and therefore there are lots of vacant apartments which nobody seems to be looking after. There was an instance where a downstairs apartment was available and the glass sliding door was left open for almost a month day and night. It's this carelessness that sets an uneasy feeling and management does nothing about it. If your car were to get hit by the kids playing in the parking lot, which isn't allowed but is done frequently and regularly, management will not step out of their office to take care of the situation at hand. Their attitude is that, "Hey, it's your car, not mine so there's no problem and there's nothing we can do about it." Had I known what was to occur when I first moved in, I would have never moved here in the first place. Please re-consider moving to these apartments and don't let the managers fool you with their fake smiles. Do not make the same mistakes we did because we have lost over $20,000 over the past 2 1/2 years!
