Prairie View Elementary School, built in 1972, has an annual enrollment of nearly 265 students in prekindergarten through grade three. It maintains a primary parent association that works to foster close relations between community and the school and welcomes parents to attend meetings and participate in school activities. Prairie View Elementary School organizes a variety of extracurricular activities, such as Red Ribbon Weeks, picture days, open houses, book fairs, back-to-school nights and spring concerts. The school has a staff of more than 40 full-time certified teachers and paraprofessionals that includes a bilingual coordinator, reading specialist, social worker, nurse, media specialist, music professionals, physical education instructors, speech pathologists, classroom teachers and custodians. Prairie View Elementary School is a part of Sandwich Community Schools and is located in Sandwich, Ill.
