Sandy Spring Friends School is a coeducational college preparatory day school that serves more than 500 students in prekindergarten through grade 12 and is located in Sandy Spring, Md. Founded in 1961, it operates upper, middle and lower school divisions and offers a wide variety of academic, and extracurricular programs. The school s academic curriculum includes English, history, mathematics, science, foreign languages, arts and physical education. Its more than 140-acre campus includes a variety of facilities, such as athletic and performing arts centers, libraries, laboratories, classrooms, cafeterias and playing fields. The school provides a wide variety of athletic activities, including cross country, volleyball, golf, soccer, basketball, track and field, tennis, lacrosse, softball and baseball. Additionally, it offers optional five- and seven-day boarding programs in its upper school divisions.
