As a recovering addict I can say it was mhfh that made me never want to use again knowing I would have to back to a place like this it was awful. Staff uses with clients same sex relations like crazy. No visits with kids I hated it.lock down the classes teach you NOTHING. Same thing same class same topic everyday had to walk to class dailey rain or shine. Staff is heartless and care nothing about clients. Lucy Hall all about that $. The modo they love you until you love yourself is wack the money is misused. The funds are also misused and the sponsors should be aware their $ is also being misused. Bad place unsafe very poor. However MRS Lucy (ceo) is pretty wealthy and clients are made to worship her clients with hiv, aids,tb,and other dieses are put in a small apartment and made to share everything unaware of the health hazards. CLOSE THE DOORS.

This is not a good place for r...

This is not a good place for rehabilitation. I will not refer nor send any more clients to Mary Hall Freedom House. I sent my last client in the summer of 2012. I received a phone call the first week stating how her treatment will be led and how the family would participate and / or be informed. None of what they said occured. The client is still there and I have not been satisfied since WEEK ONE. The ONLY reason she is still there is because leaving her there to complete is better than transfering her. She has remained clean and sober but weekly frustrations occuring with inept staff. The client constantly shares negative information regarding the lack of staff proficiency. The complaints I receive from my client are validated and 95% found to be true with poor business practices.

The client has been stranded in Atlanta on several occassions. She was given Marta cards that were not loaded with proper funds to return from trips. I had to leave my job on several occassions to take her back to Dunwoody. She was given an option to wait 3-4 hours while they locate a staff member to go get her. I asked them if I needed to purchase her a Marta card so as to prevent this repeating occurence. The staff member of her residential said, "Yes". Although the clients are instructed to not purchase or have in their possessions any Marta cards.

I would hear from this client everyday and she would be on "buddy trip" with another client 3 out of 5 days!! This is OUTRAGEOUS! This client had only been at MHFH for less than 30 days and she was escorting other clients on bad Marta cards at this rate. I was furious to think I sent her there for treatment and therapy and she is out of the groups in downtown Atlanta every other day.

The business/ office protocols are more than demerited. Bad business relations to customers. I called the office and get other clients answering the phone inappropiately. The answerer was rude and hung up the phone me. I have not receive any returned calls when left for the counselor. It was the counselor herself, who gave me her number. I sent emails and do no receive responses. This is outrageous. A simple return message is all that it takes. This staff disregards any return communication. I am led to believe they may do this with everyone. I would hope not. Either they are prejudicial or ignores all calls. Either situation is outrageous!

My client is told one way by one staff member and then the next day is told another thing by another staff member which is the former's senior staffer. This causes confusion and embarrassment to the clients as they interact with the public. When on job search and interacting with her employer, my client has been misled, misdirected and embarrassed at their lack of consistency and lack of professionalism.

I have had to purchase furniture for my client because she was not given a place for her clothes.

This place has shown me through my recent experience to be "all about money". This was first proven when she called for the initial intake and was denied because " This would not be a good fit for you nor us". She obtained funding and was immediately .... found to be a good fit I guess.... lol. THis was the next day! This place is all about money! Prerhaps I am not a big donor. Maybe that is why I dont get call backs.

I am a 30 yr healthcare professional with a Master Degree from UGA, Athens. I have been serving the recovery community in Atlanta for the last 20 years.

This is certainly not a place to begin recovery, particularly with a professional person. I wholeheartedly rate this place POOR.
