If you are looking for a professionally ran company, this is not the place. My daughter went here for years and things only got worse. The teachers don't push the girls towards advancing in dance, only participate in talking bad about students and mothers behind their backs. Many classes are just that- sitting around gossiping. The routines are below average and never challenging. There are never dress rehearsals and they charge everyone to attend their ChristmasSpring recitals (when my daughter did the exact same dance for the Christmas Recital 3 yrs in a row). The competition fees are also outrageous compared to other studios. Since leaving Dance Concepts and starting at another studio, we are doing double the amount of competitions for 1/4 the cost! Her recitals are also free to attend.

Dance Concepts is probably fine for a 3 year old, but if you want your child to learn dance at an age appropriate level..this is not the place. Look elsewhere instead of wasting your time and money.

We've been with Dance Concepts for four years. It's not terrible, but it's not great either. The staff is very unprofessional. One of my daughter's teachers wore pajamas to class, and I'm quite sure they had been slept in. She spent the majority of the class looking at herself in the mirror. I heard another teacher tell a teenage student, "Even if your mother is wrong, pretend she's right so she'll give you what you want." I have seen that same teacher sit around gossiping and acting like a teen herself in the waiting area. Even the owner seems to be catty and unprofessional. It's very disappointing.



I feel like the 5 or so teachers we have worked with have been, on average, mediocre instructors. They do just what needs to be done in class and not much more. The recitals are also quite unprofessional. No dress rehearsal is done and the costumes are too expensive. Also, my daughter's holiday recital choreography was nearly the same as a younger class that had the same teacher.
