I had a very extensive house fire in January. I took a fair amount of time coming to terms with the damage and pulling the trigger on getting a contractor out to bid the work. Our insurance suggested restoremasters and i met with Mike and one of his foreman Adan. They were extremely helpful in setting expectations about the process. About half way through the process I expressed strong concern about the material used for the face of the home. To be short I was pissed. In all fairness it was exactly what I had asked for but it looked horrible. Mike and Adan worked with me on removing the material and installing something with a much higher curb appeal. They could have very easily told me to get bent and many contractors would have. Having worked in the construction industry for many years I know very well that some contractors only care about their bottom line; that was not the case with restoremasters. They cared about building me a new home I was going to be happy to live in. Every contractor is going look good when things go smoothly, these guys shine when things need to be fixed!

I had a roofer come out and re roof my house in 2008. To keep it short, he did a terrible job which left me with lots of repairs. He had is no longer in business. Fast forward to 2015. I contacted Brian and he had the means to take charge and to dry out and contain the issues that had already occurred. He communicated with me and constantly kept me informed with a great round a bout number as far as damages incurred. He was was very professional and fair in all assessments. I was desperate with my position, but I always felt he was reliable and fair with all his assessments/charges.Ii never felt taken advantage of. I am the type of guy that believes "You get what you pay for." I never go for the most expensive, nor the least expensive, but something in between. He blew me away with their service, was very good with communicating with me about my questions about charges, and was available at all times. BEYOND fair.

FYI.. I've had terrible experiences with contractors in the past. No business is perfect. I can tell you something. Brian cared, he kept me informed (who knows, I might be a little high maintenance when it comes to things like these). I feel like if an issue were to arise, he would maintain contact and give you options and tell you the details rather than put you in a bad position. Highly recommended. After the job was done, I asked him for job estimates on other things that need to be done on my house.. In other words, I would definitely use him again.

my family recently had a fire and restoremasters came out to my house within an hour to board up. They communicated every day on the processes that were taking place on my house… I would recommend them to anyone

Double check your bill.

First off, it's worth noting that 5 of 6 prior 5 star reviews were published in 24 hours, the surest sign of an owner/employee leaving fake reviews to bring up their rating. The 6th was posted shortly after and the username is curiously similar to the name of their secretary...

Our insurance company recommended Restore Masters to fix damage from a flood. Since it was an insurance claim, they gave a bid to our insurance company which was approved and our insurance company paid them for the entire amount minus our deductible of $1000, which we were supposed to pay after the work was done to settle the bill--standard insurance practices.

When I went through the invoice line by line, I quickly began to realize that there were numerous discrepancies between what they billed for and what was actually done. The total bill was around $8000 and roughly $3000 of it was work that either clean up work that we had done before they even showed up, or work that they billed for but didn't ultimately do. Granted, once everything dried out, some things didn't need to end up being replaced, etc., but they were still happy to accept payment for them.

I called Restore Masters because we still owed them the balance in the amount of our deductible and I was told 'I don't think you know how this works--your insurance company approved the bid--you have to pay us the whole amount'. After several heated minutes on the phone, they agreed to review it said they 'could maybe' credit us for some of the clean up work that we already had finished before they even showed up the first time.'--i.e. work that we did, that they gladly accepted payment for. They didn't even deny not doing the work I called into question, they just said that our insurance adjuster approved their bid, and that it didn't matter if they actually did everything, as long as house was back in working order. I was then sent a revised bill that still didn't credit us for all the work we did and still had them getting paid for over $2000 of work that was never done by us or them.

I called the Utah Insurance Fraud hotline and explained the situation and was told that I was correct; that for them to accept payment for work that wasn't done, even if it didn't ultimately need to be done, was insurance fraud, plain and simple. It does not matter that the insurance company approved the total amount, they still have to do all the work in order to accept the full payment. As far as the work that we had done, that they had been paid for, I was told that was a civil matter.

After talking to the insurance fraud hotline, I got the owner on the phone (I think his name is Mike). I told him that I called the fraud hotline and that they confirmed my position on the billing discrepancies. He almost immediately backed down and they sent me a bill showing a zero balance. I'm pretty sure they didn't bother to refund my insurance company for the roughly two grand in bogus charges...

As far as the work they did. They were the worst, but they weren't great. It took several weeks longer than quoted to get the job done. One of their guys broke a wall decoration that they said they would reimburse us for and never did. Their tile contractor is horrible. He cut a tile on the backsplash wrong so that we couldn't re-install the vanity and it took several weeks and several calls to get it fixed, leaving us without a working sink in the meantime. He also either did seal the new floor tiles or did a subpar job, because the grout started cracking within a couple weeks.

In short, I would never possibly recommend these guys.
