Abbey's cleaning service is NO...

Abbey's cleaning service is NOT a business I would recommend. We hired them to clean our house and a female employee was sent to our house. About half way through, that female employee asked if she could bring someone else to give her a hand and said she could get everything done faster. We thought it was going to be someone from the company, but it turns out, that was not the case. It was her boyfriend, who, as it turns out, does not work for the company. In the process of cleaning the house, the female employee broke the inside pipe of our shower head in our bathroom so that instead of coming through the shower head, the water was coming through the wall. It was brought to the owner, Abbey's attention, on Monday morning, as it was after business hours on Friday when we discovered the damage. Abbey stated she would have a plumbing service call us to fix our shower head. We called Abbey about 15 times over the period of a week, and she gave the same response that she would have a plumber call us, but no one ever did. 11 days later, and I had to once again call her after she stated someone would call us to schedule an appointment over the weekend. Her excuse this time was that her "computer crashed" so she did not have our information to give to the plumber. The plumber only came out after I had to call him!!!! When it finally did get fixed, as polite as I could be considering the situation, I thanked her for at least paying for the shower head to get fixed. I further stated I did not feel comfortable using her cleaning service anymore and that I would be canceling the service. Her entire demeanor on the phone changed and she was short and much less friendly. It reaffirmed why I cancelled the service.

Well, it didn't end there. Before we had that one time cleaning, our credit card was charged $55 2 days before anyone even came out to clean the house! About a week after the shower head was finally fixed and AFTER I CANCELLED her service, one of her employees showed up at our house to clean! So, apparently she couldn't even be bothered to communicate with her employees to tell them not to come to our house! Furthermore, low and behold we find another $55 charge to our credit card for services that were never rendered!!!

So, again, I had to call Abbey and express my frustration. I started out the conversation by telling her I was frustrated and not very happy with the way things had been handled. I informed her of the second charge to my account for services that her company never provided and that I was upset about it. She immediately began giving excuses that she was informed we were never charged for the first service and I told her this was the second charge to our credit card. For a person running a business I found it hard to believe she had no idea our card was charged the first time. She became EXTREMELY belligerent and began yelling at me on the phone. Everytime I tried to speak with her, she talked over me, interrupted me, and was extremely argumentative. It reminded me of the type of yelling and screaming and irrational behavior of that of a child. I then told her she was unprofessional and she hung up on me.

It is apparent by the lack of communication to her own employees, her lack of concern for customer service, and her childish belligerent behavior on the phone that Abbey has no business running a cleaning company at all. We plan on taking legal action against her and her company. Oh, and one more fun fact about Abbey, during one of the conversations between she and my boyfriend, who is a cop, she happened to mention some information about herself! Maybe it was a guilty conscience speaking! She told him she had been previously arrested for FRAUD!!!!!!!! This speaks volumes about her and her business.

I am an actual client of this ...

I am an actual client of this service-- Abbey's housekeeping. I was moving out of the house I rented. She quoted me an amount for two people to clean a three bedroom, two bathroom house. It was very clear. She said $80 for four hours. On the day of cleaning, they called and changed the schedule to morning instead of afternoon so I had to scramble around and change my schedule that day so I can be there while they cleaned. Lo and behold, only one person showed up. Oh apparently, the owner , Abbey herself, gave me the "wrong" quote. Eighty bucks was only one person. Two people would cost me $120. Okay, I said fine. I had already moved out. The house was empty. I just wanted the house cleaned so I can move on.

The office person on the phone said that I will like the cleaning lady, she is very good. When this cleaning lady arrived, she proceeded to tell me it was he first time to work for Abbey's. This bait and switch was becoming very clear to me. What follows is a disaster. She did not know how to clean. I had to keep telling her how to remove and what to use on mildew in the shower/bathroom. She left crayon marks on the wall (very easy to clean with "eraser"). She said she vacuumed but I had to vacuum again after she left because I saw and felt a lot of dust on my feet each time I walked. She left one bathroom sink untouched. I had to do that myself, too. There was dirt on the wood floor that simple mopping could not do--it had to be scrubbed lightly with a wet paper towel. She did not clean the stove top. Left it greasy and untouched. I had to follow this housekeeper which means I wasted my money and should have gone with a more expensive company because I had to follow her work to make sure it was done right. Serves me right for looking for cheap labor. This incident has taught me a big lesson. If you are a client, stay away from this cleaning service. If you are a prospective employee, I would stay away based on the reviews I have read here.

Housekeeping Personnel Beware

I worked for Abby's house keeping on 9/17/2010 and 9/25/2010. She did not pay me for the work that I did for two of her customers. She kept my paycheck. So if you work for this company you might not get paid. In addition, she asks you to get her clients to give you a check and deposit the funds into her bank account. She will not pay you so don't work for this company.
