Provided by YP.comSteve convinced me to replace my large capacity tank for a smaller one during a maintenance visit for another problem. Since then the pump has turned off and on every time water is turned on. The pump failed a few months later. He replaced the pump and it failed again in less than 3 years. Now I have to pay someone $800 to go back to the big tank. Good business model for him. Bad news for the homeowner.

Provided by YP.comWhen Steve Young’s Well Drilling was called to chlorinate our well, he recommended also changing our large capacity tank for a 4.5 gallon tank and changing the well pipe. Total charge was $1580. We learned later that was unwise as the smaller tank requires the pump to cycle on more frequently and decreases its life.
When the pump failed 18 mos. later, Steve Young replaced it for $1542.
This week, the less than 4 year old tank broke off when the neck rusted through. While Steve was en route to replace it, I called the tank manufacturer and they confirmed it would be covered under warranty.
When Steve arrived, I asked him about the warranty. He said he doesn’t bother with that kind of thing and I would have to take it up with the manufacturer. He screwed on the “Made in Taiwan” replacement tank and charged $500, $375.00 was for the tank.
I called the manufacturer after he left and they said that should not have happened and that they would mail me a replacement tank that I can use for back up.
When I priced comparable sized tanks, I found they were in the $100 or less range. I called Steve and he abruptly passed me to his office representative. She said they could mark up the price to whatever they choose. I told her that I was willing to pay a reasonable list price for the tank even though I should not have been charged at all but that $375 was not reasonable.
Ultimately, Steve offered a full refund if I returned the tank to his office 40 miles away TODAY. I offered to pay a reasonable list price for it and just keep it. He said his list price is $164 and he would give me a check for the difference between that and the $375 he charged me only if I drove the 40 miles to his office to pick up the check for the overcharge TODAY. He refused to mail it after admitting he overcharged!
I hope my experience is helpful in making your decision about doing business with Steve Young.

Provided by YP.comI called Steve Young's office last week after I noticed a problem with my well that had been repaired a few months ago. Mr. Young came to my home and fixed the problem himself. I appreciate and want to thank him for his honesty and concern.

Provided by YP.comdishonest. A new well and pump installed by them failed in less than 2.5 years. Their response: $2650 for a new pump! Sorry!
Wells and pumps last a minimum of 10 years. They are unwilling to provide a real explanation nor take any responsibility. They have lost my business.
