Highly unethical business practices.



First they look at the tool and ask a few questions to determine how much you know about it's mechanics. Then they offer some possible sources damage to set expectations around a big repair bill. Next they ask for a $25 deposit just to scope the problem. Not an unwarranted request given the proviso that they'll call when they have estimated the total cost of the repair. Unfortunately, that call never comes. To make matters worse, when you do get a call, Joanie the shopkeeper, tells you the repair has been completed and your tool is ready to be picked up. Then as if to create a false sense of urgency, she tells you that she called and left messages days earlier. My phone has no record of those calls. The invoice is presented mater of factly, but there is no explanation of the work performed. I had to ask. In my case, they disassmebled the housing of my Makita chop-saw, put it back together, and replaced 4 screws that were sheered off when the guard was damaged. I questioned them about the charge, $50 for 4 screws, and they said I got my money's worth. Moreover, Joanine said her standard labor rate is $65/hour, so I got a break.



Do not take your business there. It's not worth the risk. They are fast and slippery. And by the way, they love to trash their competition. That's never a good indicator of honesty.
