Salt Cave Santa Barbara
740 State St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101
Salt in its purest form (rock salt) is an Evaporate (sedimentary rock) formed by salt deposits from shallow oceans in a pure sediment form, later crystallizing and forming a rock far underground due to heat and pressure. Salt – natural and unaltered – has been used for thousands of years in natural medicine, ornamental uses, and to season food. The natural crystalline salt rock varies from "table" salt that is sold in the supermarket as a mineral (sodium chloride) that contains additives from processing. Natural salt is revered for its purity assediment from ancient oceans that later formed into rock during the Jurassic Age (250 million years ago) was not contaminated by modern pollution in our oceans. Salt Cave Santa Barbara’s products have been geochemically tested, and are known to be of the highest purity.
