Located in Santa Clara, Calif., Safe Place is a national partnership program that provides a safety network for children. It works with government facilities, businesses, schools and nonprofit agencies and offers 24-hour help to children who are troubled or in danger. The program has more than 350 sites in San Jose. Safe Place is operated by Bill Wilson Center, which serves more than 10,000 clients in Santa Clara County annually. Established in 1973, the center offers a variety of services for youths. It operates transitional housing, restorative justice, prevention education and youth shelter programs. Bill Wilson Center also offers adoption, foster care and clinical programs for families.
