I agree!

The previous reviewer (Marilyn), had an even worse experience than my own. However, so much of what she said paralleled my own perception of this Dr. that I felt compelled to add my own comments. This Dr. seems to be really struggling w/ stress, emotional/personal problems, & a general mistrust and distaste for his patients. I have never been to a Dr. more lacking in listening skills or empathy. He seldom makes eye contact w/ me and I continually have to remind him of the conditions that necessitated my treatment at a pain clinic in the first place. He doesn't seem to review my chart, EVER, and seldom asks questions to help make decisions regarding my health concerns. In terms of his views on pain medication, I have "jumped through all his hoops" to avoid the use of pain meds. (i.e. injections, laser treatments, physical therapy, etc.). Nonetheless, he still he treats me w/ disrespect and suspicion when I ask for refills. I have left appointments 3 times in tears because of his unkindness. Needless to say, I am now Dr. shopping for someone who truly wants to help!

This is a doctor who wants to be a lawyer. That's right, he is going to law school.

Although he is a brilliant man, no one can handle all that, and an active young family.

He doesn't.Something is giving, and it's the medical practice.

Dr. Li seems to be a pain management doctor who doesn't beleive in the concept of pain management,

He easily thinks his patients are trying to use extra medicine, although the pharmacy only gives what is prescribed the day the date is due.He gives urine tests.

It's like being a criminal.

No one who is really sick should be treated with so little compassion.

I ended up in the hospital with a seizure because I had a real problem with the Watson fentanyl patches staying on, or leaking into my body all at once. The hospital thought I was in some kind of intermittent prolonged withdrawal syndrome, that I had tried to talk to the doctor about. Many times the doctor never even faced me, but had his back toward me, and wasn't listening to the fact that I was having REAL troubles.. I made extra appointments to show my doctor the problems I was having.Instead of listening, he cut off the prescriptions, yelled at me, and I ended up in the hospital twice.I never thought he would let me fall into real danger.

I wasn't happy with the man for the last six months and was already looking for a new one.I had an appointment with a new doctor.

If you want to be treated like a criminal, and ignored, go to this guy. Also be ready to have your medicine cut down, because this pain management specialist doesn't really beleive in it.

He also really pushes his lazer treatments, which havn't worked for many people I know. It was an expensive out of pocket experiment.
