Note to employees:
As a former employee at Green and Growing I witnessed the owner withhold the final paychecks of 5 departing individuals, and finally, my own. He withheld checks as collateral until he received the company T-Shirts that are required as a uniform, back.

HE IS NOT LEGALLY ALLOWED TO DO THIS, AND THE RETURNING OF COMPANY T-SHIRTS HAS NO INFLUENCE ON WHEN YOU GET YOUR FINAL PAYCHECK.

By California law he is REQUIRED to have your check prepared, and accessible NO LATER THAN THE NEXT PAYDAY AFTER TERMINATION, OR QUITTING. He is legally obligated to do this whether he has his T-Shirts, or not.

Be careful as he did this with EVERY employee that left when I was there. My check was withheld for a MONTH during a period I qualified for emergency food stamps. He willfully prolonged my application's approval date by keeping my check/pay-stub. He did this despite being aware of the urgent reason it was needed. Bewildering, as I did not leave on bad terms, or for misconduct. I was laid off when the installations were done, and work was gone.
