Jake is not my attorney, but my attorney calls him when we have one of those “WTF?!” issues and Jake ALWAYS knows the answer or finds it in just a moment, no matter how obscure. His knowledge of legal theory and procedure is impressive.

Jake is one of the most singularly extraordinary attorneys I have ever had the pleasure to work with. If it were humanly possible to carry around the entire California Code of Civil Procedure, Civil Code, and the California Rules of Court in one brain, that brain would rest in the body of James C. Eschen. He is a kind, devoted family man, and an exacting, equally devoted attorney. Jake will not take your money if he cannot help you. He may tell you that he does not believe you have a case, and you may feel free to seek a second (or third) opinion, but he is no swindler, and is never abusive either to opposing counsel or to clients. I highly recommend Jake if your issue is complex, and you are in need of the smartest guy in town. Do not try to retain him if you want to "play dirty" in your case. Jake is of the highest honor, and wins his cases by the rules and the law. I can think of no greater praise for a fellow attorney than to say that he is genuinely an honest man.

Actually the first statement was obviously written by a plaintiff who lost to Mr. Eschen, one of many who has i might add. Let a defendant who won give you a more accurate review. Mr. Eschen is a gifted, intelligent attorney who worked tirelessly on the case in which he represented me. His legal skills are outstanding and his ability to apply the law was demonstrated in winning at the Superior Court level as well as subsequently in the Appellate Court. He is also a very decent human being. I would highly recommend Mr. Eschen to anyone that wants to be represented by the best.
