Because of eye surgery, my husband required special equipment to facilitate his recovery. The surgery coordinator for Eye Associates of NM recommended A and R Medical Supply in Santa Fe. Referencing a brochure she gave me, I called A and R from the Albuquerque Ambulatory Eye Surgery Center and requested two pieces of equipment to be delivered the next day. They were delivered but one was not what I had ordered. I called the next day, June 7, to inquire of a credit for that piece of equipment. I was told to call back on Monday, June 9, and speak with the manager, Manuel Marquez.
Mr. Marquez said credits were not normally given for rental equipment but he would look into it and call me back. Two days later, I called again but he was out of the office; my request for a return call was again ignored.
As of Friday, July 13, the two pieces were picked up because my husband no longer needed anything special for his recovery. We paid for the rental of two pieces for one week when only one was the correct piece.
Of all of the people I dealt with, Robert, the man who did the delivery and pickup, was the most conscientious, customer oriented and pleasant person. After reading the other reviews, I would say the others I was in contact with certainly lived up to the poor ratings. During a time of stress, a person should not have to be treated so unprofessionally. The message I heard while on hold at least twice was that the A in A and R stood for “attitude”, supposedly a friendly, professional attitude. That seemed far from the truth.
