Will ask for money before the job is complete...very high priced..thinks he knows everything

Months after I fired this guy and paid someone else to finish the job, two people I've never met before showed up at my house after dark and demanded that I recant my earlier negative review here because as they said "It's all my fault that Leon Construction has no work." Really? From a single online negative review?? Nonsense, it probably has more to do with this being autumn and the economy and building market being down as well. These visitors claimed that the owner did not know anything about their visit (Really? How, then, did they get my address and connect the review to me?). The police were notified and given all relevant information, just in case, as soon as they left. Of course he may not have known anything about the visit, but if that is true, he should reign in his relatives (which is what they claimed they were).

This guy is great. Referred to me by a friend who has been using him for years, I found him to be reliable, timely and reasonably priced. While most contractors will find excuses to bump up their prices, this one sticks to his estimate and finds resourceful ways to fix things when others would simple purchase a new part (whether electrical, plumbing or otherwise) He uses his brain to solve problems and is truthful in outlining what he needs to do when repairing something. I liked him so much that I ended up having him help me move house, which he did in half a day with two other of his staff. Everything arrived and was placed just where I wanted it and they also lit my pilot lights, hung a drapery rod and pictures! So no matter what you need to have done, give this guy a call. He's great!

"High standards?" "Professionalism?" NOT. I have had a most frustrating experience with this contractor. It started with them digging a hole in my newly landscaped yard to mix their concrete, went through their attempt to foist a design on me that was nothing like what I asked for (finally when I insisted they corrected it), the gates had to be no more than 2" off the ground to keep the cats in and they made them 3.25" (cat goes right under!) and overall poor repairs to the damage they caused when haphazardly attaching brackets to my cement wall (makeshift adjustments because their brackets were not square - then they told me the fault was not their brackets, but rather my wall - which was patently untrue). This guy is not very capable, not very bright and I suspect he expected me to accept shabby work because I'm a woman. It's been a nightmare and has taken a month to not do much of the "three day" job. I fired them. If you just want stucco they're okay. Otherwise go elsewhere.
