Santa Fe Springs City Council is a public service agency serving the California county s residents, and is comprised of five residents elected for four-year overlapping terms. The council s functions include appointing a city manager, city attorney and members of city boards and commissions, adopting the annual budget, enacting legislation, and establishing policy for the city. The city council is also responsible for overseeing various community services, including library, cultural, parks and recreation and family and human services. It also oversees the city s finance and administrative department that focuses on recording and reporting financial transactions of the city and its related entities. The city council also governs city planning, public works and engineering departments.
