Speaking as a former employee and current grandmother of a student, St. Mary of the Assumption School is a wonderful, family centered Catholic environment. If academic rigor and Catholic Identity are important to your family, St. Mary is the best school in Santa Maria!

Wonderful school with an environment and culture of kindness, respect, and responsibility. Catholic values are deeply rooted in the day to day activities at the school. I've attended daily mass on days when the students also attend and their exceptional good behavior is impressive. Additionally, their campus leadership and intelligence is well displayed when the students take on liturgical roles like lecturing, singing in the choir and altar serving. I have also served on many committees to interview students in our community--elementary and high school students from all schools--for scholarships, camperships, essay contests and the like. Students from St. Mary's consistently deliver high quality applications and interview very well. They are head and shoulders above their contemporaries from the public schools in this area. What I have seen indicates it is definitely worth the small financial investment to attend to St. Mary's to ensure success in high school and beyond.
