The Santa Maria Fire Department provides various risk emergency services, as well as public education programs, fire prevention and life safety measures to the residents. It works to preserve lives and protect property of the general public. The department provides emergency services that include prehospital emergency medical services at the Emergency Medical Technician-Defibrillator (EMT-D) level. The Santa Maria Fire Department also responds to structural, vehicular and vegetation fires, hazardous materials, water and trench rescue, public assistance and other emergencies. The department also administers a hazardous materials business plan program in cooperation with Santa Barbara County, Calif. It is located in Santa Maria, Calif.
