i.e3rd floor of Nordstrom! This place was pretty empty on a Saturday night. My gf thinks it's because people want to chill at tapas places for a long time, and because this Nordstrom closes at 9pm, which is pretty early, people don't eat here for dinner. We got the chicken tacos, cherry glazed beef, mushrooms and asparagus, and the scallops. The scallops were my favorite dish. My gf loved the chicken tacos. She hates coming to Santa Monica because of the traffic, but she thinks the chicken tacos might make it worth it. The mushroom and asparagus was really good too. The beef was a bit tough and not flavorful. We got two deserts, the chocolate banana creme brule, and the molten lava rasberry chocolate cake. The lava cake was one of the best I've had. Not too sweet, which is one of my main complaints., A local favorite, or highly recommended because

i.e., A local favorite, or highly recommended becauseSurprisingly pretty good!!! After some serious shopping, the hubby and I were in the mood for a small bite.. So I pulled out my trusty YELP app and looked up local bookmarks and remembered about Blue Stove. Since we were in the mall already, we werent too phased about this eatery being in a department store, but once inside, the ambience is really calming and quiet. Our server was a younger college type and very attentive and professional. I personally love tapas places, I always equate tapas = ORDER MORE! But then the hubby reels me back in... so here was our list of small bites in order of deliciousness! # Heirloom Tomato Salad with Burrata Cheese -- A colorful assortment of seasonal sweet tomatoes with balsamic glazed croutons and that oh-so-lovely creamy burrata dollop on top. Totally WINNING. # Lemon Risotto with Scallops - Pretty solid... soft and fluffy. the lemon was fragrant and refreshing!

i.e., A local favorite, or highly recommended becauseOur first time trying Blue Stove. The location made us skeptical (on the 3rd floor of Nordstrom), but so glad we tried it. The food and service was amazing! Shortly after we were seated they brought sliced baguettes with a small dish of assorted olives in olive oil for dipping. We tried Frisee Salad with Manchego Cheese, Black Cod with Miso Glaze, Wild Mushroom and Asparagus, Sweet Potato with Aioli Dip and a glass of Merlot. Everything was delicious! Our meal totaled around $45. Will definitely be back!

AMAZING food! My girlfriend and I got the Crispy and Spicy Cherry Glazed Beef, which has a deep, savory taste. Presentation is on point. I would definitely recommend this place especially if you like sharing food

It's in a Nordstrom. Once you get past how weird that is, Blue Stove is actually pretty awesome! The menu is tapas style, with a lot of ethnic-food inspired, fusion-y type dishes. We had the Korean bbq sliders, beet/arugula/goat cheese salad, crispy and spicy dark cherry glazed beef (zomg!) and the risotto with scallops. All of it was really, really, really tasty and I'm happy because now I know what a beet is. The highlight was definitely the beef, which was recommended by other yelp reviewers for good reason. We finished with the Warm Valrhona Cake, which was AAMMMAAZZZZZZING. I have high expectations for cake. I'm a cake fiend. And this cake was top shelf. Great service, intimate atmosphere, complimentary house bread. Expect to spend a little more (I think we ended up at $80 total for 2 of us) but it's worth it!

At first I was hesitant to try this place because it's located on the 3rd floor of Nordstrom (literally between the Men's and Children's section). BUT I was definitely blown away by the delicious food and great service! We came here on a Saturday night with my family (a party of 7) and the tapas style menu was perfect for our large group! We each picked two items from the menu and it was more than enough to share! Our favorites were: + Spinach & Fuji Apple Salad + Warm Goat Cheese Salad + Korean BBQ Short Rib Sliders + Beef Poutine Fries + Lamb Brochettes + Miso Glazed Black Cod + Lemon Scented Risotto + Lump Crab Cakes + Crispy Cheese Balls For dessert: + Local Cheese Plate + Chocolate Banana Creme Brulee + Milk & Cookies + Chocolate Lava Cake The portions were perfect for everyone to have bit of everything! From what I could tell based on past reviews, they seem to change some items on the menu every once in a while so don't be surprised if something is no longer there when you go!
