I first visited Bonnie because I was struggling with my nutrition while training for a 50-mile race. I had recently lost 31 pounds by not eating white flour or sugar, and by limiting my meals to three meals daily that are weighed and measured. I was very reluctant to add more food into my daily diet as I did not want to gain back any of my hard-earned weight loss.

However, as my workouts increased, I was becoming very tired and began to lose interest in training. Once I met with Bonnie, she explained to me that my metabolism had slowed down because I wasn't giving my body enough fuel to maintain the activity I was asking my body to do on a weekly basis. Bonnie also measured my body fat percentage as she feels this is a better measurement of weight loss than the number on the scale.

Also, what I found interesting was that my body seemed to be burning fat better than carbohydrate, so Bonnie customized an eating plan that included a balance of good fats, complex carbohydrates, fruit, veggies, and protein.

Additionally, I love that Bonnie addresses not only the eating, but that she also looks at the mental stuff going on around food. I have now been training and eating on Bonnie’s plan for three months and I feel great! My weight has stabilized and I have excellent energy. I highly recommend Bonnie to anyone who is looking for a nutritionist who doesn't follow fad diets and who will customize a plan that is right for your body and your life goals. I love that her philosophy is to help her patients feel good at every size.
